Xiaomi is preparing to announce the Xiaomi 17 Ultra model at the product launch it will hold on December 25. In addition to the flagship phone, the Xiaomi Watch 5 and Xiaomi Buds 6 models are also expected to be introduced at this event. Xiaomi officially confirmed the two new models and shared basic technical details.
Xiaomi Watch 5 and Xiaomi Buds 6 Are Coming Xiaomi Watch 5 is defined by the company as a “truly smart flagship“. The watch is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 wearable platform. This chipset, which features a 4 nm production process, comes with a quad-core Cortex-A53 processor structure.
A striking innovation was preferred on the sensor side. Watch 5 will be the smartwatch to feature an EMG (electromyography) sensor for the first time in Xiaomi history. The EMG sensor aims to convert hand movements into digital commands by detecting muscle signals from the wrist, in addition to the existing ECG (electrocardiogram) support. In this way, the watch can open the door to gesture-based control scenarios. On the design side, while the round case form is preserved, it is stated that the screen is protected by sapphire glass with Mohs 9 hardness. The Watch 5, featuring a one-piece stainless steel case, will be offered with brown and green strap alternatives along with the stainless steel option.
On the Xiaomi Buds 6 side, the company confirmed the new semi-in-ear flagship headphones. Buds 6 comes with three different color options: pink, white, and black.
The headphones, featuring a curved design, also focus on software-based features such as smart recording, live translation, and AI-supported summarization. The Buds 5 model introduced last year stood out with semi-in-ear active noise cancellation, spatial audio, and long battery life. Buds 6 is also expected to offer a more advanced experience built on this foundation. All technical specifications and pricing for Xiaomi Watch 5 and Buds 6 will be clarified with the official launch on December 25.
